First-year Architecture and Interior Design students from the University of Portsmouth kick-started a day of site visits across London with a stop at the RIBA this morning. RIBA Information Officers Karen Wilman and Jason Canham led students on exclusive guided tours of the RIBA’s Art Deco headquarters. Students also heard presentations by John-Paul Nunes, Head of Education Projects, and Elizabeth Grant, Education Curator for the British Architectural Library. Students had an opportunity to explore highlights from the Library’s collections and ask questions about student membership, competitions, awards and scholarships. As they left the RIBA this afternoon, students were heading off to do presentations at sites in Regent’s Park, Bloomsbury, Lincoln’s Inn, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly, Parliament Square and the South Bank. Good luck!
If you would like to make arrangements for a free education programme for your students or colleagues, please email the Education Curator at library.education@riba.inst.org or phone (0)20 7307 3732 to discuss your visit.
