Poetry and architecture
Do you feel there is architecture in poetry and poetry in architecture?
To celebrate our 175th Anniversary the RIBA commissioned a poem by Poet Laureate Andrew Motion. Feel free to post your comments here - on the subject of “architecture and poetry”.

This takes me back to my degree! We had to make poems about Architecture for the Psychology course. I think I did mine on Synchronic and Diachronic rhythms.
There is architecture in poetry and poetry in architecture.

The journey of life shapes the person within…the person within shapes the environment we all live in…
I believe Architecture + Poetry combined, are strong foundations which enables a person to share their own experiences of life with the rest of the world. Whether it may be through ones own personal experiences, memories or even through ones own culture, they can all have a dramatic impact on the way a person think’s and design’s in the world of Architecture.
Through this the poetics can be interpreted into Architectural forms…thereafter one can truely say that the forms have become the Poetry of Architecture!
